TV models’ agent faces tax raps
The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) on Thursday filed a tax evasion case against an agent for television commercial models who the BIR said failed to pay P4.174 million in income tax in 2009.
The BIR filed the complaint in the Department of Justice against Bernard Anacta “for the willful attempt to evade or defeat the payment of taxes and for deliberate failure to supply correct and accurate information on his 2009 income tax return in violation of the National Internal Revenue Code.’’
Anacta owns Monaco Models and Casting Agency located in Salcedo Village, Makati City, which is engaged in casting artists and models in television commercials.
According to Revenue Deputy Commissioner Estela Sales, the BIR found that Anacta received an aggregate income of P7.69 million in 2009 which he failed to fully declare in his income tax return for that year.
