LP members told to vote for RH bill
MANILA, Philippines — Liberal Party members on Tuesday were advised by its leadership to place their support for the Reproductive Health bill, which is set to be voted on this week.
The LP said this in a statement sent to reporters after the meeting at the party’s national headquarters led by Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II and Budget Secretary Florencio “Butch” Abad.
Sources have earlier confirmed that the RH bill was part of the meeting’s agenda, adding that majority of those in attendance were in support of the proposed measure.
The LP said that among those present during the meeting with Roxas and Abad were Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. and House majority leader Neptali Gonzales II.
Roxas reminded those present during the meeting of President Benigno Aquino III’s support for the RH Bill which he recently made mention of during a lunch with legislators at Malacañang.
