10 injured in 6-vehicle smashup in Antipolo City

MANILA, Philippines—Ten people were injured following an accident involving six vehicles in Antipolo City Friday morning, a city officer said.

A Cubao-bound jeepney lost its brakes causing it to hit another vehicles that resulted in a smashup of two motorcycles, two tricycles and a private vehicle at around 10:50 a.m. along Marcos Highway in Barangay (village) Mayamot, said Maria Theresa Nuesca of the Antipolo operations center.

But contrary to radio reports of two casualties, Nuesca said no one died in the multiple collision.

“We had it checked and no one was killed,” she said.

Nuesca said the victims were rushed to the Amang Rodriguez Hospital.
