Police nabs suspected killer of 3 DPWH workers in Quezon
LUCENA CITY — The suspect in the killing Friday of three workers of the Department of Public Works and Highways in Mulanay town was arrested by police operatives early this morning.
Senior Superintendent Valeriano de Leon, Quezon police chief, said a police team captured Rommel Rocete inside his house in Barangay 3 in Mulanay town proper.
In a text message from Mulanay town, De Leon said the suspect did not resist arrest and surrendered peacefully.
“He admitted the killing,” Chief Inspector Romulo Albacea, Mulanay police chief, said in a phone interview.
Albacea said the police also found the caliber .45 pistol used in the killing inside Rocete’s house.
On Friday evening, a drunk Rocete shot dead three DPWH workers and injured four others.
