Don Bosco vs Ateneo in players 6 finals game

DON BOSCO A and Ateneo de Cebu (AdC) will be contesting the players 6 title of the 15th Aboitiz Football Cup after defeating their respective semifinal foes yesterday at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Don Bosco A blanked Giuseppe FC-Gerry’s Grill, 3-0, to advance to the final round while the Magis Eagles edged Don Bosco B, 3-2, to book the other finals ticket.

The two will be vying to clinch the players 6 title vacated by defending champion Bright Minds in Action Learning Village (BMALV). BMALV did not field a players 6 team and instead had teams seeing action in the players 10 and boys 12.

In the inter-BPO category also played at the Aboitiz Sports Field, Unitech, Accenture, Leylam, Innodata and NCR all notched their second straight wins in the tournament.

Unitech blanked Springdale, 2-0, Accenture inflicted the same 2-0 beating on Author Solution, Leylam routed Convergys B, 5-0, Innodata outsmarted San Miguel, 2-0, while NCR punished Wipro, 4-0.

Posting its first win was Timex LS, which completed a 4-0 demolition of Convergys A.

Stream and Timex BP ended their match in a scoreless draw while Lear FC and Erich Rafeal also figured in a 1-all draw.

Over at the football field of the University of San Carlos-Technological Center (USC-TC), the University of the Visayas (UV) tallied its first win with a 1-0 edging of PhilSC A in the U23 contest.

The other U23 match between USC and the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) ended in a 1-all stalemate.

In the men’s open, barging into the win column were ERCO FC and University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR) Alumni.

ERCO FC squeezed past Atletico Cebu, 3-2, while USJ-R Alumni blanked B-Meg Camellanz, 3-0. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
