Lawyer: Strauss-Kahn accuser, DA meeting went well
NEW YORK —A lawyer for a hotel maid accusing Dominique Strauss-Kahn of sexual assault says his client met with New York City prosecutors for nearly eight hours.
The attorney for Nafissatou Diallo said Wednesday that the meeting went well, and focused on tapes of two conversations she had with an incarcerated friend shortly after Strauss-Kahn’s arrest.
The meeting was the first since the Manhattan District Attorney’s office publicly announced they had doubts about the woman’s credibility. Strauss-Kahn has been charged with attempted rape and other crimes.
The former head of the International Monetary Fund has denied her accusations. His next court date is Aug. 23.
Diallo broke her silence in recent days and came forward publicly with interviews in Newsweek and on a series of ABC News programs.
