Teams B, C, F win openers in Cekalco X’mas hoopfest

TEAM B scored a come-from-behind, 81-78 win over Team H, Team C stunned Team E, 74-70, while Team F crushed Team A, 68-57, at the start of the Center Katipunan A. Lopez Christian Organization (CEKALCO)-2012 Christmas basketball tournament at the CEKALCO open court along A. Lopez St., Cebu City.

Team H led in the first three periods but Team B sizzled in the final quarter with a, 25-18 run that completed the come-from-behind win.

Danny Tenchavez and T. Maspiñas led Team B with 16 points apiece while Michael Cinco scattered a game-high 36 points for Team H.

Earlier, Team E got a slim lead in the opening half but Team C rallied in the 3rd stanza with a blistering, 26-17 run to grab a, 57-49 lead going to the fourth.

Richard Gubaton powered Team C with a night-high 32 points while Nelson Solana and Jessie Villarosa paced Team E with 14 and 13 points, respectively.

In the other game, Team F led from start to finish to beat Team A with Moises and Edwin Lazaga scoring 18 and 13 points, respectively. K. Beltran and Danny Desoyo paced Team A with 20 and 13 points, respectively.
