Man electrocuted, falls from billboard

A man died after being electrocuted and falling from a billboard in Pasay City on Friday night.

The Pasay City police identified the victim as Dennis Versoza, 25, a billboard installer of Mecon Steel Builders.

Initial investigation showed that while Versoza was removing a tarpaulin signage at the Jollibee building at the corner of Edsa and Sgt. Mariano St.  at around  6:20 p.m., he accidentally leaned on a high-tension power line.

The police claimed the victim failed to notice he was already very close to the high-voltage wires near the billboard.

The strong electric current caused the victim to collapse and plummet more than 40 feet to the ground. Versoza’s coworkers, Freddie Yu and Charles Mangaong, rushed the victim who sustained serious head injuries to the Pasay City General Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.
