Quake shakes summer capital
BENGUET—A magnitude 4 earthquake shook Benguet province on Friday morning but authorities reported no casualties or damage.
A bulletin issued by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the epicenter of the quake, which struck at 9:18 a.m., was 3 kilometers southeast of Tuba, Benguet. It was felt at Intensity 3 in Baguio City and La Trinidad, Benguet.
The ground shaking was strong that some residents in the city rushed out of their houses. Students of the University of Baguio Laboratory Elementary School were led out of their school building by their teachers when the earthquake struck. They gathered at a nearby basketball court and returned to the school after about 20 minutes when no aftershock was felt. Inquirer Northern Luzon
