Romney holds slim lead over Obama

WASHINGTON – Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has taken over the lead from incumbent Barack Obama based on projections by US networks.

Romney has a slight edge with 163 out of the 270 electoral college votes needed to win the presidential race. But in the knife-edge race, Democratic incumbent Obama was on 158 electoral votes with some vote-rich states still to be called.
