Erasers bounce back with blowout victory
THE ERASE XFoliant Erasers bounced right back from the 30-point beating that they got in their opening game and vented their ire on the erstwhile leaders Cagayan Valley as they won over the Rising Suns, 91-78, in the PBA D-League Aspirant’s Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
Jett Vidal led the Erasers with 22 points as they barged into the win column following their 71-101 loss to the NLEX Road Warriors.
Nate Matute added 20 points while Jovit Mendoza added 19 while Marlon Gomez chipped in 12 markers.
In the second game, Big Chill logged its own blowout 74-63 victory over Blackwater.
The Rising Suns opened an 8-2 lead but the Erasers outscored the Cagayan Valley, 25-8, behind the timely scoring Vidal and Matute to take an 11-point advantage after one quarter. The Rising Suns picked up their rhythm in the second quarter but failed to keep up.
Mark Bringas led all scorers with 23 points. Adrian Celada had 16 and Chritopher EXiminiano chipped in 12 for the Rising Suns, who shot just 35 percent (30-of-85) from the field./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
