25th WBO Convention starts
FLORIDA–In what is expected to be a very well-attended event, the World Boxing Organization is set to kick off its 25th Annual Convention Silver Jubilee today with hundreds of delegates all over the world trooping to the majestic Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino here.
No less than WBO President Francisco ‘Paco’ Valcarcel will welcome the delegates who will be attending this 5-day conclave that will decide the future of the world’s most prestigious boxing organization today.
“We are pleased to announce our 25th Annual Convention WBO Silver Jubilee and Election to be held at the famous Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida from the 22nd to the 26th of October, 2012,” Valcarcel said.
The general assembly, followed by the president’s report as well as the treasurer’s report takes place today, as well as the elections and judges’ meeting.
Meanwhile, among those who arrived early for the convention were WBO Asia Pacific chairman Leon Panoncillo, who was accompanied by Filipino boxing officials Salven Lagumbay and Edward Ligas. GAB Commissioner Aquil Tamano also flew in to represent the boxing commission.
