Pagasa spots new LPA east of Mindanao
A low pressure area (LPA) off Surigao del Norte dissipated before noon Sunday but another weather disturbance was spotted east of Mindanao, weather forecasters said Sunday.
Generally good weather is still expected over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon in the next few days, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Forecaster Bernie de Leon said the new LPA was spotted at around 2 p.m. at 1,010 kilometers east of Mindanao. It could enter the Philippine area of responsibility by Monday.
In its 5 p.m. forecast, Pagasa said the Visayas and Mindanao were expected to be cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers or thunderstorms, while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon would be partly cloudy with brief rainshowers or thunderstorms. Jeannette I. Andrade
