Student sells ‘shabu’ outside school, nabbed

A college student and an unemployed man were arrested in separate drug buy-bust operations in Mandaue City.

Luke Evenacer Alvarillo, 18, was arrested outside a university where he was studying as a third year marine engineering student.

Senior Insp. Stephen Amamag-id, chief of Opao police station, said Alvarillo sold a pack of suspected shabu worth P250 to an asset who acted as a buyer at 6 p.m. last Friday.

Police said they recovered from the student five sachets of suspected shabu.

Police said Alvarillo was capable of selling 20 sachets of shabu per week. The student did not divulge who supplied him with the illegal drugs, said police.

A separate illegal drug operation led to the arrest of Fernando Prada near the flyover in barangay Maguikay.

The operation was conducted by a joint team of the Centro police and Basak police around 2 p.m last Friday.

Parada allegedly sold a pack of shabu worth P300 to a poseur-buyer.

Police said one shabu was seized from Prada’s possession after the arrest.

The two men were detained pending the filing of charges against them, said police.
