Boxes of broken glass cause LRT2 ‘bomb scare’ in Manila

A bomb scare sent members of the Manila Police District to the LRT2 Recto station when three suspicious-looking boxes were found near one of the concrete posts on Saturday afternoon.

The boxes, however, turned out to be containing nothing but pieces of broken glass when bomb experts had them blasted using detonators.

MPD director Chief Supt. Alex Gutierrez said pranksters may have left the boxes in the area just to sow panic.
