Capoeira master to join festival

BRAZILIAN Capoeira master Mestre Torpedo will take part in the Batizado Interno festival of Sinha Bahia De Capoeira Internacional, the only Capoeira academy in Cebu City.

A Batizado (literally baptism in Portuguese, and borrowed from the religious tradition) is an annual event for a Capoeira group. It includes workshops, rodas, Batizado and Troca de Cordas.

Mestre Torpedo, instructor Jensen and the Cebuano Capoeira practitioners will present acrobatics, music, martial art, rhythm and Brazilian culture tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the Ayala Center’s Active Zone.
