INQUIRER.net poll: Majority votes favor Mar Roxas at the helm of DILG
MANILA, Philippines—A little over half of the 5,558 votes cast in an INQIRER.net poll favor Mar Roxas to occupy the top post of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, replacing the late Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo, who died in a plane crash.
A total of 2,869 votes, or 51.62 percent, clicked Yes as of Thursday night in answer to the poll question “Do you think Mar Roxas is a good choice for the DILG top post?” Roxas, a former senator and who previously headed the Department of Transportation and Communications, was confirmed Wednesday by the Commission on Appointments as head of the DILG.
“No” votes totaled 1,825, or 32.84 percent of the total votes, and “Maybe” votes 864, or 15.55 percent.—Rick Alberto
