Man hurt in accident

A TRUCK helper  was seriously injured by falling steel bars after the roof of a  delivery truck carrying the metal gave way yesterday.

Allan Pangandoyon, 36, was pinned down in  the front seat of the Isuzu Forward truck in barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City.

Bystanders pulled him out and rushed him to the hospital where he was treated for multiple fractures.

The driver, Edward Solijon, 28, and another truck boy who were seated on each side of Pangandoyon, escaped with cuts and bruises.

The  truck was delivering 600 steel bars to a construction site in Consolacion town from Vic’s Enterprises in Mandaue City.

When the truck  reached the Maguikay flyover, the  front part of the roof collapsed.

The  accident happened a day after container van trailer fell on its side and crushed a woman who  took shelter beside the  van at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.
