Dumpit takes stand
SPO1 Adonis Dumpit yesterday presented in court several commendations he received during his 20-year stint as a policeman.
Dumpit took the witness stand in the murder case filed against him for shooting dead 17-year-old suspected robber Ronron Go on Dec. 14, 2004.
Dumpit admitted to the court that there were times when he fired back at suspects who tried to shoot him first.
On direct examination, Dumpit said he knew Go when he arrested the boy upon the request of the latter’s parent and grandmother.
He said Go’s mother and grandmother claimed that the boy was bringing a knife to justify the boy’s arrest.
