MMDA reports some flooded streets in Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines–Motorist have been advised to take alternate routes after several roads were rendered impassable due to flooding due to the sudden heavy downpour Monday evening.

In its twitter page, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said Biak na Bato, Santolan Paterno and the road in front of SM Sta. Mesa are now impassable to light vehicles due to flooding in the area that started between 7:03 p.m. and 7:29 p.m.

Slow moving traffic was reported on Ma. Clara Araneta, Aurora Tunnel, Ortigas (near POEA) and RMB V. Mapa going to Aurora due to gutter-deep flood waters.

Reports also said the entrance of the University of Santo Tomas in España was likewise impassable to light vehicles.

Twitter user @deardaaarla said  that flood was “almost waist deep on España… just past the railroad.”
