Andrins show way in Race for Faith

THE YOUTHFUL Andrin siblings continued their winning ways as they managed podium finishes in the 1st Race For Faith of the Oasis of Love Cebu  at the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.

Leading the way for the Lapu-Lapu City-based Andrins was 13-year-old Lovely Fe, who topped the female division of the 14-kilometer race that ended at the Mantawi Drive beside the Cebu International Convention Center.

Lovely Fe finished the race in 1 hour, 07 minutes and 48 seconds to secure the title. She was trailed by Mary Jane Beboso (1:11:20) and Carla Cosep (1:12:37).

Lovely Fe’s older sister, 15-year-old Jhean, meanwhile, topped the 5k female category as she finished the race in 17 minutes and 41 seconds.

FEATURED STORIES

The younger Cherry, 10, clocked 17:44 to finish second behind her older sister. Crizel Diongson (17:55) claimed third place.

In the men’s side, 27-year-old Robert Daang took advantage of a Kenyan-less cast to emerge victorious in the 14k category. He finished with a time of 48 minutes and 59.59 seconds.

Riez Enriquez (50:02.87) finished second while Neri Joland Concepcion (54:11:12) settled for third place.

The top three placers in the men’s 5k were Joel Delposo (17:10), Bonifacio Monjas (17:12) and Jodell Balarilan (17:15).

Around 700 runners joined the race, which also had a 3k fun run category.

The proceeds of the race organized by Batch 55 of Oasis of Love-Cebu headed by director Tonton Maningo will be used to help Batch 56’s upcoming spiritual seminar on October.
