Moro rebels charged with murder, kidnapping

Renegade Moro rebel leader Ameril Umra Kato and more than 100 of his followers have been charged for the bloody attacks on several villages and military camps in Maguindanao last month, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said Wednesday.

Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr., CIDG chief, said Kato and members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) were charged with multiple murder, kidnapping and robbery with homicide at the Maguindanao provincial prosecutor’s office on Tuesday.

Also charged were BIFF commanders Muhammad Ali Tambako, Badrudin Silongan, Kagi Karialan, Abu Missry and 109 others. Marlon Ramos
