PNP’s No. 2 files early retirement

The second most senior official of the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday bowed out of service, triggering a top-level movement in the national police force and a change in leadership in the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

Deputy Director General Arturo Cacdac, the PNP’s deputy chief for administration, opted to leave the service before turning 56, the mandatory retirement age, on October 11.

In a ceremony at Camp Crame, Cacdac officially turned over his post to Deputy Director General Emelito Sarmiento, a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1980.
