Sereno bares SALN; net worth reaches P17.9 M

MANILA, Philippines—Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno’s networth is P17,985,375.51 based on her 2011 statement of assets, liabilities and networth (SALN).

According to her 2011 SALN, Sereno declared three house and lots in Filinvest East, Cavite and Davao, memorial lot in Cavite and a lot also in Filinvest. Her real properties are worth P10,481, 500 with P1.350 million worth of improvements in the house and lots in Filinvest and Cavite.

Aside from her real properties, Sereno also declared a Toyota Altis 2005 model worth P760,000; Toyota Corolla 1997 model worth 320,000; Mitsubishin Lancer (2nd hand 2003 model) worth P95,000.

Her cash in bank is P1,185,602.00 while her receivables are P3,537,130.25. All in all, her total assets are worth P19,227,578.85.

Sereno’s total liability is worth P1,242,203.34 broken down as follows: credit card billings worth P125,511.10; Payables worth P116,692.24 and loan at BPI Family Bank worth P1-million.
Her total assets less total liabilities amount to P17,985,375.51.

In a statement sent late Thursday, Sereno said her disclosure of her SALN is without need to observe the conditions set by the Supreme Court.

“Her assets include the savings left from the legal fees paid by the government to her in connection with the cases involving the NAIA Terminal 3, net of the amounts paid for Value Added Tax, income tax, opening expenses and personal consumption. The payment was made to her for services rendered from 23 October 2003 to 31 July, 2008, a period of more than 4years and 9 months,” Sereno said through its Public Information Office.
