Dollar falls on easing eurozone fears

Accenture dominated the “Goal for Gab” 7-A-side football tournament after clinching the men’s and ladies title last weekend at the football field of the Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) in Labangon.

Accenture advanced to the quarterfinal round with a second-place finish in bracket D of the elimination round.

It grabbed a semifinals ticket with a 3-2 edging of Leylam and a 2-1 win over Convergys B catapulted the team to the finals, where it went past Lear FC, 3-2, for the title.

In the distaff side, Accenture also blanked Lear FC, 1-0, for the title.

Jan Michael Abellana was named as the most valuable player (MVP).

Other special awards in the men’s division went to Convergys Philip Charles Remedio as best goalkeeper and HPOI FC’s Jake Moreno as best striker. Leylam FC was named as the Fair Play Team.

In the distaff side, special awards went to Accenture’s Karen Grace as best goalkeeper; Lexmark’s Ina Onrejas as best striker and Kimberly Arcens also of Accenture as the best player.

The tournament was organized by NCR FC in cooperation with DBTC and fully supported by the Cebu Football Association as a fund raising activity for nine-month-old Gabrielle, who has been diagnosed with tetralogy of fallot, a congenital heart defect.

Cebu Queen City United FC’s Limhar Baunsit, who spearheaded the organization of the event for Gabrielle, the daughter of his officemate, expressed his gratefullness to Ugur Tasci of Leylam Shawarma FC, who also gave financial support.

Donations will still be accepted and those interested can call 0915-2859-990 and look for Michael Pacaña, the father of Gabrielle.
