Tabal wins women’s 15k crown in 1st Heritage Run 2012
CURRENT running sensation Mary Joy Tabal outran veteran and former running queen Christy Sevilleno-Tutor in yesterday’s 15-kilometer race of the 1st Heritage Run 2012 at the Plaza Independencia.
Both runners were winners last Sunday with the comebacking Tutor topping the 25k category of the 7th University Run of the Cebu Doctors’ University in Mandaue City and Tabal winning the 16k title in the 1st Timex Run in Cebu City.

Finishing third was Madelyn Carter (1:07:35.88) while the youthful Jhean Andrin came in at fourth (1:10:36.48.)
In the men’s side, Kenyans took the top two spots as Josphat Kiptanui (51:07.89) beat compatriot Douglas Mwiti (53:26.67) for the title.
Both were also winners in last Sunday’s races. Mwiti ruled the Timex Run’s 16k class while Kiptanui won the men’s 25k title in the University Run.
