7 Landslides hit Bukidnon town; no casualties so far reported

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – A series of landslides struck the town of Quezon in Bukidnon Province on Saturday night.

Initial reports said no one was hurt or killed in the landslides.

Lt. Col. Jose Maria Cuerpo,  chief of the 8th Infantry Battalion,  said reports from the field revealed that two nipa huts and several livestocks were “affected” by the 8 p.m. landslide in the village of Sinuda in Quezon town.

“Initial reports said there was no human casualty,” Cuerpo said, adding that government troops have gone to the landslide site for rescue operations.

Cuerpo said there were seven separate landslides, and four these were considered “minor.”
