Cop killed in BIFF attack on police outpost in Maguindanao
COTABATO CITY – A policeman was killed when suspected members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters fired on a police outpost in Datu Unsay, Maguindanao around 2 a.m. Saturday, a police spokesman said.
Colonel Prudencio Asto, speaking for the 6th Infantry Division, identified the slain police officer as Police Officer 1 Randy Dumaguing.
The incident took place a day after authorities said they have completely regained control of the Maguindanao-General Santos Highway following nearly a week of fighting that killed a dozen people — four of them civilians.
