Metro Manila rivers reach critical levels–Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines — Water levels in several rivers in Metro Manila reached critical levels Tuesday morning as rains brought by the southwest monsoon continued to pour.
Water level monitoring stations in San Mateo, Mindanao Ave, Tumana Bridge, Sto Nino, Marcos Highway, Rosario JS, and Rosario LS, have all recorded critical water levels, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (Pagasa) Flood Forecasting and Warning System (FFWS) Tuesday morning.
As of 9:30 a.m., San Mateo-1 recorded a water level of 23.26 meters. The critical water level is 18.30 meters. Two hours earlier, the water level was at 22.13 meters, it said.
The Mindanao Avenue water monitoring stations recorded 30.38 meters. Its critical water level is 30 meters. It was higher two hours earlier at 30.66 meters, it said.
At the Tumana Bridge water level monitoring station along the Marikina River, the water level was 22.49 meters, above its critical level of 18.30 meters. The water level recorded two hours earlier was 21.54 meters.

The Rosario JS monitoring station recorded 15.16 meters. Its critical level is 13.80 meters. Two hours earlier it recorded a water level of 14.69 meters.
Pagasa’s FFWS is a new system that automatically gathers data from several monitoring stations and updates an online site every 10 minutes.
