MANILA, Philippines—Power in areas experiencing heavy flooding would be switched-off, Meralco said on its Twitter account Tuesday.

“Please be advised that Meralco will switch off power in areas that are experiencing heavy flooding. Please turn off your main power switch, too, in case your home is already flooded,” it said on its Twitter account.

“Our crews have also already been deployed to attend to any trouble that may have affected our facilities serving your area,” it added.

Meralco  also said they were continuously monitoring the situations and were doing their best to “provide power service without  compromising public safety.”

Earlier tweets showed that portions of España, New Manila and La Loma, had been affected by power interruptions while the Sampaloc substation “has been de-energized due to severe flooding in the area.”
