Donna Cruz-Larrazabal to read books to kids
THE 40 SM malls nationwide and three SM branches in China will simultaneously celebrate the National Children’s Book Day on July 19.
In SM City Cebu, the celebration will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Event Centre with singer-actress Donna Cruz-Larrazabal as celebrity reader.
The annual celebration is usually held on the third Tuesday of July to commemorate the publication of Dr. Jose Rizal’s “Ang Pagong at ang Matsing” (The Turtle and the Monkey) at the Trubner’s Oriental Record in London.
The objective of this SM Cares campaign is to let the children experience the world of books through digital storytelling with celebrities, book mascot parade, literary exhibits, book donation drive, “writeshops” for children’s literature and other activities focused on proper values and cultures.
