DRIVEN by its desire to “win peace in Negros Oriental,” the 79th Masaligan Battalion headed by Col. Pio Diñoso partnered with the stakeholders in the province to provide basic services to schoolchildren.

The army unit distributed free school supplies provided by Gov. Roel Degamo to the 200 pupils of Buenavista Elementary School in barangay Buenavista, Sta. Catalina town, Negros Oriental.

During the gift giving, Pedro Dagodog, a barangay councilor said the school supplies are reminders for the pupils to study hard. He also acknowledged the efforts of the government through the Masaligan battalion for providing the gifts.
