New low pressure area seen in N. Luzon—Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines – A new low pressure area was seen east of Northern Luzon while the southwest monsoon is expected to continue to affect parts of Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Tuesday.
In its latest weather forecast, Pagasa said the weather disturbance was spotted 1,020 kilometers east of Northern Luzon.
Northern and Central Luzon will have occasional rains which will become frequent over the western section due to the southwest monsoon. Meanwhile, the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over western sections of Northern and Central Luzon and the coastal waters over these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southeast to southwest with slight to moderate seas,” Pagasa said.
