2 MEN NABBED FOR FAKE PRODUCTS

CEBU City police arrested two men involved in selling fake sexual potency drugs.

Police said Jamil Gaviola and Alvin Daji were caught  selling counterfeit packs of Viagra and  Cialis  in barangay Kamagayan at dawn yesterday.

PO3 Atillano Ferollino of the Fuente police station said  they  received complaints about  the two men whose customers are mostly elder foreigners.

STUDENTS TO HELP police force

AT LEAST 100 criminology students from two schools in Cebu province are now members of the police auxiliary force.

The students are from the Professional Academy of the Philippines in Naga City and Colegio de San Antonio de Padua in Danao City.

Enlisting criminology students  was  conceptualized by PNP Director General Nicanor Bartolome, said Chief Supt. Marcel Garbo, director of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas.

Deans of the two schools and officials of the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) signed the memorandum of understanding yesterday.

Garbo said the CPPO is the first to implement the program.

Dr. Artemio Panganiban Jr., dean of the  college of Criminology of Professional Academy of the Philippines, said the program will boost the interest of the students and help them get familiar with  police work./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC

STOLEN MACHINE PARTS

MACHINE PARTS  were stolen from the compound of the Department of Public Service (DPS) in North Reclamation Area, Cebu City.

Police said DPS personnel discovered at 10 a.m. yesterday that a crankcase, a propeller shaft and three leaf springs were missing.

The case is under investigation.

In a separate incident, a  72-year-old woman lost her necklace worth P30,000 to thieves while she was sleeping at the terrace of her home in barangay Sambag I, Cebu City.

Catalina Lemizo told police that she didn’t notice the theft while she was napping.

Three suspects were identified in the theft –  Dos Jacalan, Macky Jusalen and a certain Jeffrey,  all residents of Sambag I. The three men fled after the incident, said police./SWU INTERN AGNES DOMASIG
