Boy with leukemia needs help

Six-year-old Arone Apodaca has been diagnosed by National Children’s Hospital doctors to be suffering from acute lymphocytic leukemia.

His mother, May Fe Gregorio, who is raising him by herself, said that her son was supposed to undergo chemotherapy last month.

However, he was forced to skip treatment because they did not have enough money, she added.

According to May Fe, her son has difficulty talking because of his condition.

“But when he needs something, he is able to talk to me except when he asks for milk and I cannot give him milk because we have no money,” she said.

Mother and son are staying with a relative in Kawit, Cavite.
