64-year-old businessman found dead with knife wounds in San Juan store

MANILA, Philippines—A 64-year-old trader was found dead in his store in San Juan City on Monday before dawn with knife wounds in his left palm and neck.

Police identified the victim as Loreto Blanco, a businessman residing on Bagbag Street in Rosario, Cavite.

PO3 Clifford Hipolito, investigator on case, said in his report that a helper found the lifeless body of Blanco around 2:30 a.m. in a stall he was renting in Agora Market on Domingo Street in Barangay Pedro Cruz in San Juan City.

He said when the helper found him, the victim was lying on his bed at the roof deck of his stall with blood stains on his shorts and “visible lacerations” on his left palm and neck. An 11-inch kitchen knife was also found within the victim’s reach.

Hipolito said that when the police arrived at the crime scene to conduct an initial interview, no one spoke of any vital information.
