Gibo Teodoro honors 10 Army troopers in Cagayan de Oro

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Defense Secretary Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. on Wednesday, June 3, honored 10 military personnel for their exemplary service during a visit to the 4th Infantry Division (4ID) headquarters here.

Teodoro commended the awardees at the division’s Montalvan Hall, pointing out the Department of National Defense’s (DND) continued commitment to supporting troops on the ground.

“(The DND) owes you a lot for your exemplary work,” Teodoro said in Filipino.

He assured the division that the defense leadership is proactively working to address their operational requirements before needs even arise.

Teodoro received internal security briefings from the 4ID leadership regarding ongoing military operations in Northern Mindanao and Caraga regions.

Top officials from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the Philippine Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI-DOST), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) converged at the camp to brief the defense chief.

Maj. Gen. Marion Angcao, 4ID commander, thanked the defense secretary for the visit, saying that the high-level engagement strengthens the division’s resolve to fulfill its security mandates in the region. /mr
