PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur – Four individuals, including three teenagers, were seriously injured when a motorcycle collided with a pickup truck along the national highway in Barangay Bag-ong Kahayag, Lakewood town, Zamboanga del Sur, early Thursday.

Police said the accident occurred at around 1:45 a.m. Investigation disclosed that both vehicles were traveling in the same direction from Bayog town when a pickup truck, driven by a 47-year-old electrician who resides in Lakewood town, signaled a left turn at an intersection. However, the motorcycle, reportedly traveling at a high speed, collided with the left side of the pickup truck.

The motorcycle driver, a 16-year-old male, and his three backriders sustained serious injuries.

Responding personnel from the Lakewood Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office rushed the victims to the Lakewood Rural Health Unit before their transfer to Pagadian City for further treatment.  

The pickup truck driver was unharmed. 

Both vehicles were damaged. 

Authorities are conducting further investigation to determine liability in the incident./coa
