MANILA, Philippines – After five straight weeks of hefty increases, motorists will finally get some relief as fuel prices dropped sharply Tuesday, with diesel rollbacks reaching as much as P23 per liter.

However, the reprieve may be short-lived, as global oil prices began climbing again following the collapse of peace talks between the United States and Iran over the weekend.

The botched talks raised concerns of renewed volatility in the coming days.
