Trader, worker hurt in Medellin shooting

AN owner of a poultry supply store and his helper were shot and wounded by a lone gunman in barangay Kawit, Medellin town, northern Cebu yesterday.

Isidro Rosales sustained a gunshot wound in the groin area, while his 13-year-old store helper was wounded in the foot.

Police are still investigating possible motives for the attack.

Although he had no known enemies in the barangay, Rosales was involved in a dispute with relatives over a lot ownership.

Police said the attack happened around 5 a.m. yesterday while Rosales was driving a motorcycle with his two helpers as backriders. They were headed to Rosales’ store.

Police said the victims were about a kilometer away from the store when a man wearing a full-faced helmet fired at them four times.

The gunman fled on a motorcycle which was parked nearby.
