Drowning victims’ kin to get cash aid

THE Cebu provincial government will be giving financial assistance to the family of the three brothers who drowned in a river in barangay Saksak, Aloguinsan town, southwest Cebu.

Marivic Garces of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development officer said the Capitol will give P15,000 in burial assistance to the family.

Rep. Pablo John Garcia of Cebu’s 3rd District  will also give P15,000 to the family of Rod Mar, 8, Reymart, 6, and Rafael Flores, 4.

The three young brothers drowned while doing laundry last Sunday. The victims were found lifeless at the riverbank past 1 p.m. last Sunday.

Police said they suspect that the boys took a dip in the river, about six feet deep, after doing their laundry.
