Former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso has channeled over P100 million from his talent fees to support various programs across the Philippines. His donations target key sectors, including health care, education, disaster relief, and community development, benefiting thousands of Filipinos.
A large portion of the donations went to health-related initiatives. Moreno allocated P32 million to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) to establish a cancer ward for children and P40 million to fund liver transplants for 20 pediatric patients. He also contributed P2.5 million for other cancer treatments at PGH and P100,000 to the Philippine Heart Center. These funds provided vital resources for medical care and treatment for those in need.
In the education sector, Moreno donated P11.5 million to provide tablets for students at the Universidad de Manila, helping bridge the digital divide among learners. He also gave P2 million to Museo Pambata to support early childhood education and cultural programs. These initiatives aimed to provide tools for learning and growth, especially during the shift to online education.
Moreno also extended help to communities affected by disasters. He donated P9.5 million to assist families displaced by the Aroma Tondo fire, P10.7 million to victims of the Isla Puting Bato fire, and P9 million to those affected by the Mambaling Cebu fire. Additionally, survivors of the 2020 Taal Volcano eruption received P4 million, while P5 million was allocated to victims of the 2019 Cotabato earthquake. These donations helped families recover and rebuild after devastating losses.
Smaller contributions were also made to other causes. Moreno provided P750,000 for the Tanulong Health Center in Sagada, Mountain Province, P143,000 to Hemophilia Advocates Philippines, and P35,000 to support overseas Filipino workers.
