Boy dies after being hit by ambulance in Rizal

LUCENA CITY — A 5-year-old boy died on Sunday evening after a speeding ambulance struck him in Taytay, Rizal province, police reported on Monday.

Donn Isaiah Izaac was hit at 6:30 p.m. while attempting to cross Ynarez Avenue in Barangay Sta. Ana.

Police said the ambulance was driven by a certain “Eugene.”

The boy suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the Rizal Provincial Hospital System by rescuers, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Investigators said the ambulance involved in the accident is owned by the Barangay Sta. Ana council.

The driver has been taken into police custody and is facing criminal charges. INQ
