Congressman Red Tri Series kicks off today in Carmen

EXCITING triathlon action heads over to the municipality of Carmen as the first leg of the Congressman Red Tri Series gets underway today at the Seabreeze Resort at 6 am.

This sprint event is composed of a 750 meter swim, a 20-kilometer bike ride and a five-kilometer run. It will also have the mini-sprint, a 375m swim, 10k bike and 2.5k run. In addition, a duathlon is also being offered which is a 2.5k run, a 20k bike ride and another 2.5k run.

The race briefing starts at 6:15 am while the triathlon starts at 6:30 am. The duathlon starts after the triathlon’s swim stage.

According to race organizer and esteemed sportsman, Oscar “Boying” Rodriguez, they will be implementing a “no helmet, no ride” policy for the safety of the participants. Triathlon participants must also wear clothing for their upper body during the bike and the run and bikers are asked to have water with them as there will be no water stations during the bike leg.
