Yard sale at Cebu City public library every Saturday of June

/ 07:11 AM May 24, 2012

A FUND-raising event is set on all Saturdays of June at the Cebu City Public Library.

The yard sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. will display various items such as books, clothes, among others.

The sales proceeds will go to the public library and will benefit the I Love to Read Project, which aims to develop literacy skills among the children.

The project uses a non-formal approach to learning, such as read-along, read-aloud, role playing and storigami.

FEATURED STORIES

Leading this event are the Basadours, a non-profit organization composed of volunteer ambassadors for reading and storytelling.

The group holds regular storytelling sessions at the public library for children from the city’s public and private schools.
