Shabu worth over P770M seized in Cavite
LUCENA CITY — Police seized 214 kilos of shabu (crystal meth) worth more than P770 million from three big-time traffickers in buy-bust operations on Monday night in Imus City, Cavite.
Drug enforcement operatives caught “Larry” and “Jan” after they sold P1,000,000 worth of shabu to a poseur-buyer in a sting operation at 6:26 p.m. in Barangay Pasong Buaya II, the Police Regional Office 4-A reported on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
Seized from the suspects were 210 kilos of meth worth about P748,000,000 at P3.5 million per kilo, the report said.
At 9:58 p.m. another team of operatives busted “Adie” in Barangay Buhay na Tubig.

Article continues after this advertisementThe suspect yielded four kilos of shabu in four separate vacuum-sealed plastic bags worth P27,200,000 at P6.8 million per kilo, according to the report.
Article continues after this advertisementLieutenant Colonel Chitadel Gaoiran, PRO-4A public information officer, in a phone interview Tuesday said the “drug value depends on the grade (quality) of the shabu,” which explains the pricing differences.
The operatives also seized two mobile phones from the three suspects to be examined for drug transactions.
The police tagged the three suspects as “high-value individuals” in the local drug trade.
They are tracking the source of the shabu, while the suspects were detained at the local police jail and are facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In August, police anti-narcotics operatives in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon seized more than P24.2 million worth of illegal drugs during their operations.
