4 airports suspend operations

MANILA, Philippines — All airports under the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) are operational and have reported no damage despite the onslaught of Tropical Storm Enteng (international name: Yagi), it said in a statement on Tuesday.

Caap, however, said that aircraft with a maximum certificated takeoff weight of 5,700 kilograms or less are not allowed to fly in areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1.

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport, on the other hand, is under the authority of the Manila International Airport Authority.

Based on the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration’s bulletin as of 5 a.m. on September 3, Enteng may further intensify once it crosses the West Philippine Sea Tuesday morning.
