MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said fugitive televangelist Apollo Quiboloy is still inside his Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) compound in Davao City as the search now approaches its 10th day.

PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo made the statement after Vice President Sara Duterte remarked that Quiboloy is already out of KJC compound, according to news reports.

“That is the opinion of our VP, we are entitled to each other’s opinion, but like I said, your PNP believes, with the information at hand plus the monitoring of our special equipment and devices, that we are now at the stage that we are locating them,” Fajardo said, partly in Filipino, during a press conference in Camp Crame.

The PNP does not take seriously reports that Quiboloy is now out of KJC, according to Fajardo.

“We cannot take their statement hook, line and sinker. We have the information at hand; we know that he’s there,” she further said.

Previously, Fajardo noted that the police are zeroing in on the “specific areas” of the suspected underground facility where Quiboloy is believed to be hiding.

On August 24, around 2,000 members of the PNP raided the 30-hectare KJC compound. More policemen and military personnel later augmented the serving of arrest warrants against Quiboloy.

He and the five co-accused face child abuse cases before the Davao City court. One of them has been under the custody of authorities since July.

Likewise, Quiboloy has standing arrest warrants for human trafficking issued by a Pasig City court.

“Again, we want to take this opportunity to once again appeal to Pastor Quiboloy and four others to surrender and face the music before the proper courts,” Fajardo said.
