Suspect in multiple murder cases gunned down in Porac

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — Policemen shot dead a man allegedly involved in several murder cases during a hot pursuit operation on Monday in Porac, Pampanga.

The Central Luzon police identified the killed person as Jojo Fajardo, a resident of Suklayin village in Arayat, Pampanga.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Central Luzon police said  Jojo was a suspected gun-for-hire “who had managed to elude authorities for over six years.”

It said the suspect was wanted for multiple murder charges and other crimes.

Acting regional police director Brigadier General Benjamin Sembrano said the hot pursuit operation on Sunday night was to capture two men who shot and killed a 26-year-old man from Candating village in Pampanga’s Arayat town.

The assailants were reportedly on board a Kawasaki Barako motorcycle with a sidecar bearing plate number 1049 KY.

The regional police’s statement quoted Pampanga police director Col. Jay Dimaandal as saying that a flash alarm had been issued to all police offices in the province against the suspects.

At 1:50 a.m. on Monday, the police received information that the motorcycle with a sidecar used by the assailants was seen along Megadike’s extension in Cangatba, Porac.

Operatives from the Pampanga and regional intelligence units and Porac police jointly conducted an operation in the area around 4:45 a.m. on the same day to arrest the assailants.

When Fajardo saw the policemen, he tried to flee aboard the tricycle. A chase and a firefight allegedly ensued, resulting in the suspect’s death.

The Central Luzon police said the Scene of Crime Operatives’ personnel found a.45 caliber pistol near the suspect’s body.
