MANILA, Philippines — Resolutions congratulating gymnast Carlos Yulo for his double-gold win at the 2024 Paris Olympics were consolidated and adopted by the House of Representatives on Wednesday.
During the session, the resolutions were consolidated with House Resolution (HR) No. 1864, which was authored by Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio Gonzales Jr., Deputy Speaker David Suarez, Majority Leader Manuel Jose Dalipe, Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan, Senior Deputy Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander Marcos, and Tingog party-list Reps. Yedda Marie Romualdez and Jude Acidre.
Yulo made history after securing two successive victories at the 2024 Paris Olympics – a gold in the men’s artistic gymnastics final on Saturday night and another gold during the men’s vault finals on Sunday night.

Agencies and companies have pledged grants for Yulo after his victories.
Romualdez on Monday said Yulo would receive P3 million from the House of Representatives per gold medal, which means he is now slated to get P6 million.

On Tuesday, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) said Yulo would get a P10 million cash gift for each gold medal he won at the 2024 Paris Olympics, which means he is slated to receive P20 million.
The coaches and trainers of all gold medal winners in the 2024 Paris Olympics will get a P5 million incentive per medal, which means Yulo’s coach and trainer will get a total cash gift of P10 million.
